To all the Oftebros and extended family
We would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas with friends and family wherever Christmas finds you this year. We have had some lovely weather in South Africa and are looking forward to some warm sunshine as the year draws to a close. Garry is joining Mark and Michelle in Zimbabwe for Christmas this year and asked me to send you all on his behalf. Merry Christmas and all the best for 2012.
Warm regards from all of the African Oftebros

Oftebro have been dreaming of a family ingathering for North America in
the summer of 2010. We have had some initial contact with immediate
family members and encouragement from those who planned the reunions in
Norway and South Africa, but with busy family lives and a new baby, we've
put our planning on hold. After considering several factors, we are
thinking of meeting in San Francisco, California, but are open to
suggestions and ideas from other family members. The more we
investigate, the more work and planning we realize will need to be done,
and also the need for a group of interested and committed people to carry
out all the necessary activities to make this a reality. Please let us know if you are interested in the
idea, share your thoughts
and whether you'd be willing to help in any way. At this
point, all
ideas are welcome - a time to see what others might look for in a
gathering of Oftebros in 3 years. My email is doftebro AT
juno.com. Right now the possibility is overwhelming, but I do believe that
together, we can make it a reality.

We're pleased to announce the addition of a new member of the Oftebro
family, Kameron Robert Oftebro, (1-1-11-2-2-1-3), son of Kristian and
Jessica Oftebro of Lake Forest, California. Kameron is the grandson of
Ronald, great-grandson of Kenneth and born on his birthday, and
great-great grandson of Kristian Teodor Oftebro. He joins his
sister, Kaitlynn who is 6 1/2, and Kyle, 2.

An enormous thank you to
Garry Oftebro, for a tremendous effort and for a
wonderful Oftebro reunion in South Africa. It really exceeded
all expectations and was an experience of a lifetime, which
will stay with us forever. Garry made a gift for each family
of glitterstone, and I told him that ours now hangs in our
dining room, a visual reminder of the Oftebro spirit alongside
another; the Lyngdal group photo from 2004. I can't help but
think how proud Ommund, Christian and Berte Marie would be to
know that the seeds of love, hope and faith that they came to
share in South Africa were certainly enacted during this
reunion and will continue to strengthen in future friendships.
Thank you to each of you who attended, as with out you there
would be no reunion. Till we meet again! Love from Pieter,
Tessa, Graeme & Lindsay.

Greetings to all around the world from South Africa. Wishing you all a fabulous, happy and loving Easter with your families.
With less than three months to go to our next family reunion, which will be held here in South Africa, excitement is building and we looking forward to a wonderful time all being together here on African soil. We have many people from all over the world and particularly Norway, who have signed up to make the pilgrimage, and for many it is the first time they will be visiting Africa. And this some 158 years since the first of the Oftebro missionaries, Ommund Oftebro spent a 5 month ship journey getting to South Africa from Norway in 1849.
We look forward to welcoming everybody here in South Africa at the end of June and encourage anyone still thinking of joining in that you are welcome !!
Happy Easter, with love and joy !!
Garry, Gigi and Karl Oftebro. South Africa.

Hello Oftebro relatives worldwide.::It is great to notice all the warm
greetings, criss-crossing throughout the family, as a result of the “family greetings relay race” launched by the Oftebro family
committee. Not everybody, who has been challenged, has found it natural to respond by leaving his/her greetings in the
guestbook, and/or by challenging a new person/family to do the same. This has resulted in a number of “loose batons” that never found a hand to be left
into. ::::On behalf of the Oftebro family committee we take this opportunity to pick up a handful of these “loose batons” and forward them to a corresponding number of persons/families, hoping these persons will leave their messages in the
guestbook, and hoping they in due time will all challenge new persons/families to take part in our little game:::::1. Tim and Hisako
Oftebro. Please tell us about your life in Japan! And how are your triathlon competitions coming
along, Tim?::::2. Leane Oftebro. Have you given any song concert in Saskatchewan or British Columbia or elsewhere
recently? Please let us hear news from you!::::3. Lorel (Stander) Ward. How was the story about the mug of Zulu king
Cetshwayo, that had been kept for generations in your family? Does this story go all the way back to your
great, great, great grandfather, missionary Ommund C Oftebro? Please let us hear news from your life in GB.::::4. Olaug Asheim Furnes. What is the family news from Stavanger,
Norway? Did you enjoy the beautiful summer in your Lyngdal cabin this
season?::::5.Leone (Oftebro) and Harold Owchar. How are Canadian teaching and Canadian blood services coming along in Saskatchewan these
days? And what other news?::::Grethe and Torstein Oftebro, Lier, Norway.::

Norway. News after the reunion: Henrik Oftebro Enge, son of Yngvil (our
daughter) and Espen, was born 28.10.2005. Tomorrow we plan to take the train to Stavanger, to celebrate Henrik`s one-year
day. I want to send the baton to one of the families who were not invited to the reunion in Lyngdal, simply because we had not
"found" their adress at that time. As you know, Carl Martin Johan Foss - son of Karen Sofie

Tournament, playing for Zimbabwe against South Africa. Mark was named
"The Flying Moustache" when he again earned MAN of the MATCH as they annihilated the South African team.

Hello everybody in the great Oftebro family!::::Who am I?::I have two
brothers, Reidar and Torstein Oftebro, and they were both active in planing the great Oftebro Reunion.I agree with all the positive words that have been said about this
reunion, and I say like Deena Streek from Canada: “It was huge!” The only negative comment I have heard conserning the arrangement was that we lost a little bit of contact with each other because of this
hugeness. Therefore I think this guestbook is a very positive idea for those who feel the wish of a closer contact to members of the great
family.::::I am sorry that my sister, Gudrun, didn´t live to see the
reunion. When she joined Reidar, Torstein and Reidar´s wife, Grethe on a trip to South Africa in the year of 2000 to visit the places where the missionaries
Ommund, Christian and Berte Marie Oftebro (Hojem) did their work, the thoughts of an Oftebro Reunion already had
